Now that you have created your event and added opportunities to it, you can attach categories to your opportunities.
Attaching a category to your opportunity will help your employees filter and select the right opportunity for them.
What is a category?
A category helps classify the type of opportunities available. For example, you can create a "outdoors" or an "animals" category. Employees will be able to filter opportunities by categories to find the most suitable and interesting opportunity for them.
1.Creating a category
Start at the
"Volunteering Events" homepage. The page should look similar to the first image below. Scroll to the right and click on "More", as seen in the second image.
Click on "Categories". The following image will appear
Click on "Add Category" at the top of the page and you will see a new row appear> Write the name of your category e.g Children, Animal, Pro Bono, Skilled, The Great outdoors. Make sure you save after each new category.
After you have added all the categories the page will look similar to the image below
Save it
Note: Just because you have created categories does not mean they are automatically attached to opportunities. Follow the below instructions to attach at category to an opportunity.
2.Using a category
You have created a few categories and want to attach them to your opportunities.
In your "Volunteering Events" homepage screen, click on "Opportunities"
After you have clicked on your Opportunities screen, you will see a "Category" field under which you can select one of the categories you have created. See image below
Select the category in which best describes your opportunity through the drop down menu
Your employees will now be able to easily find this opportunity by filtering your volunteering marketplace by category
